Collaboration Promotes Health of NC Citizens

Several members of the NCPTA are representing physical therapy and collaborating with a variety of health care professionals on statewide initiatives.

Jen Martin PT, DPT, recently attended a meeting of a new task force formed by the North Carolina Institute of Medicine (NCIOM), in partnership with the NC Department of Health and Human Services Division of Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.This task force has been established to study the current state and limitations of health services for people who are hard of hearing, deaf and deaf-blind and the resulting consequences of those limitations.

Vicky Tilley, PT represents NCPTA on the NC Department of Health and Human Services Opioid and Prescription Drug Abuse Advisory Committee (NC DHHS OPDAAC). A comprehensive list of health care provider groups is represented on this advisory committee and are working together to address the opioid crisis.

Flo Moses, PT, attends the NC Population Health Collaborative meetings held twice per year. The Collaborative provides an opportunity for stakeholders to share experiences and ideas about transitioning to affordable, value-based healthcare.
